These Herbs Could Detoxify Your Liver

My brother had been extremely enthusiastic about getting a fish tank for his room. He’d gotten all the things he needed – the fish feed, the nets, the extra bowl, the cleaning equipment, the filter, etc, etc. Initially, he’d promised to clean the tank on a regular basis, and he did so the first couple of months. But slowly, the burden of cleaning the tank fell onto the shoulders of the poor little filter. It did what it could do best; but after a while the tank got covered in slime and the health of those poor fishes began to deteriorate.

This may well be the way we view our liver today. We generally tend to ignore the condition of our liver until it begins to get affected or begins malfunctioning. Only when it does start screaming for help do we realize that we’ve taken it for granted all this while.

The Liver and the Human Body –

The liver is said to be the largest glandular organ in the human body. It lies right beneath the diaphragm and is on the right side of the abdominal cavity.

The functions of this organ would include having to break down fats, converting glucose to glycogen, producing urea, creating amino acids, filtering harmful elements/substances that are present in the blood and maintaining correct level of glucose in the blood.

It is responsible for around 80% of the cholesterol production in your body.

Detoxifying the Liver –

It is important to care for this organ of your body, just like you care about your eyes, skin and hair. A variety of symptoms such as sluggishness, fatigue and hormone imbalances may appear if the liver is dysfunctional.
